We embraced the rich legacy of Noble Rot magazine by crafting a refreshed and contemporary design language that elevates its iconic content. Noble Rot is a vibrant celebration of gastronomic pleasure, merging the worlds of wine, food, and culture with a genre-defying spirit. Published every four months, the magazine features a star-studded lineup of columnists and interviewees, ranging from culinary legends like Nigella Lawson and Yotam Ottolenghi to cultural icons such as Brian Eno, Kiera Knightley, and The Chemical Brothers.
Our editorial design honors the eclectic and dynamic nature of the magazine, ensuring that the visuals complement the bold, cork-popping narratives within. To achieve this, we developed custom typefaces that echo the magazine’s distinctive voice, bringing a fresh, yet timeless aesthetic to its pages. Each issue is a showcase of excellent editorial design, with specialist screen prints crafted to celebrate every cover, making each edition a collector’s item. The magazine’s visual appeal is further enhanced by stunning illustrations from artists like John Broadley, Jose Mendez, and Dennis Eriksson, as well as evocative photography by Ben McMahon and Tom Cockram.
Through our design work, we’ve not only preserved the magazine’s legacy but also positioned it at the cutting edge of contemporary editorial design, making Noble Rot a must-read for connoisseurs of wine, food, and the arts.
