In line with the sustainable focus and industrial theme of the 38th Festival d'Hyères 2023, we used discarded airbag material from decommissioned Mercedes-Benz vehicles to create personalised tag invites for selected attendees.
The 37th Festival d'Hyeres celebrated exploration and responsible luxury design with Mercedes-Benz. To mark the occasion, we designed and produced a welcome pack for selected guests, including a bespoke bag and map of the site.

For the past two years, we have collaborated with Karla Otto on designing and producing luxury gifts for the Mercedes-Benz partnership with Festival d’Hyeres. Since 2012, Mercedes-Benz has supported emerging creative leaders and in 2021, introduced the Sustainability Prize to promote responsible luxury, awarding a monetary grant to the finalist with the best sustainable collection.

For the most recent 38th Festival d’Hyeres, we created personalised tag accessories for select attendees, using airbags from decommissioned Mercedes-Benz vehicles. These were packaged in responsibly sourced, recyclable packaging, and included a set of postcards. The postcards showcase the work of the designers entering the prize in an industrial, utopian setting. The raw airbag materials used to create the tag highlight the mechanical aesthetics of this art direction, and the irregularities in the material allowed for each tag to be completely unique. We further customise the experience by screen printing the invitees names onto the tags.
